Green Light Legal Funding 310-303-1858 Request funding

Pre-settlement funding · California

Your case is worth the wait. Your rent isn't.

Green Light advances part of your future settlement so you can cover what's due now — without settling early for less than your claim is worth.

Non-recourseIf you don't recover, you owe us nothing.
No monthly paymentsWe're repaid once, out of the settlement.
Case, not creditApproval turns on your claim, not your score.

Where we come in

The case moves at the court's pace. Your bills don't.

Personal injury claims can take a long time to resolve, and how long varies widely. Funding fills the gap between the day your attorney takes the case and the day the check clears.

Day one The injury

Wages stop. Treatment starts. The costs begin immediately.

Early on Attorney retained

Your lawyer opens the file and puts the insurer on notice.

Any time after Green Light funds

We review the file with your attorney and send funds once the paperwork is done.

The long stretch Demand and negotiation

Discovery, medical records, mediation. Usually the longest stage.

Resolution Settlement disbursed

Your attorney repays us from the proceeds. You keep the rest.

Funding exists so you don't have to take the insurer's first offer just because the mortgage is due. That's the whole point.

How it works

Four steps, and your attorney does most of one of them.

  1. 1

    You apply

Five minutes. We need your contact details, the basics of what happened, and your attorney's name.

  2. 2

    We call your attorney

One call to your firm for the case file and the police report or medical records. You don't chase paperwork.

  3. 3

    We make an offer

You get the full terms in writing, in plain language, before you sign anything.

  4. 4

    Funds are sent

Wire or check, once contracts are signed. Spend it on whatever you need.

How the money works

Nothing here is a surprise, because nothing here is verbal.

Legal funding works differently from a loan, and the difference is the part worth understanding before you apply.

Applying
Free, and it doesn't obligate you to accept anything
Credit and employment
Not part of the decision
Monthly payments
None — repayment happens once, at settlement
Who repays us
Your attorney, directly out of the settlement proceeds
Your terms
Set out in full in your written contract before you sign
Right to cancel
Cancel in writing within the period stated in your contract and return the funds
If you lose
You owe nothing. We take the loss, not you.

Why this isn't a loan

A loan is money you have to pay back. This isn't that. We buy a portion of whatever your case eventually pays, and our right to be repaid exists only if there are proceeds.

That's what non-recourse means, and it's the whole structure of the agreement — we take on the risk that the case comes back with nothing.

It also means we can't touch your credit, your paycheck, your car or your home if the case doesn't go your way.

Cases we fund

If a lawyer has taken it on contingency, start here.

Auto and truckingRear-end, multi-vehicle, commercial trucking, rideshare, pedestrian and cyclist claims.
Premises liabilitySlip and fall, negligent security, dog bites, dangerous property conditions.
Medical malpracticeSurgical error, misdiagnosis, birth injury, nursing home neglect.
Product liabilityDefective products, vehicle and equipment failures, recalled devices.
Employment and civil rightsWrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage claims, excessive force.
Wrongful deathClaims brought by surviving family members and estates.

Not sure whether yours qualifies? Call and ask. It takes two minutes and there's no cost to find out.

For attorneys and paralegals

We work around your calendar, not through it.

A funded client is a client who can afford to wait for the number the case deserves. We try to make that cost your firm as little time as possible.

One request, one time

We ask for the file once, in a single list, and we don't call your paralegal every week for status.

No exposure to the firm

Funding is non-recourse and runs to the client, not to you. Your firm doesn't guarantee anything.

Written before signed

Your client gets the complete written terms for review before executing, and we welcome your comments on them.

Questions

The things people actually ask.

What if I lose my case?

You keep the money and you owe us nothing. That's not a courtesy — it's the structure of the agreement. Our repayment comes only out of proceeds, so no proceeds means no repayment.

Do I need good credit or a job?

No. We don't underwrite you, we underwrite the claim: liability, damages, treatment, and the policy limits available. Your credit score and employment don't factor into the decision.

Does my attorney have to agree?

Yes. Your attorney has to acknowledge the funding and confirm they'll pay us out of the settlement proceeds. Most personal injury firms handle these routinely.

How much can I get?

It depends on the expected value of your case and what's already claimed against it — medical liens, prior advances, your attorney's fee. As a rule, funders stay well below what you'd net, so there's a meaningful recovery left for you at the end.

What can I spend it on?

Anything. Rent, groceries, the car payment, childcare, medical bills. There are no restrictions and no receipts to submit.

Can I get funded more than once?

Often, yes, if the case supports it. Each additional advance is a new agreement with its own terms, and we'll show you the combined payoff before you sign.

Is this available outside California?

Right now we fund claims pending in California. If your case is filed elsewhere, call us anyway — we'll tell you plainly whether we can help.

  1. 1

    We call you

A short conversation to confirm the basics of your claim and who represents you.

  2. 2

    We contact your attorney

With your authorization, we ask their office for the case information we need. You don't chase paperwork.

  3. 3

    We review and respond

If we can offer funding, the full terms come to you in writing to review with your attorney before you sign. Approval is never guaranteed.

Nothing you've submitted obligates you to accept an offer, and nothing about it affects your credit.
