Legal funding for personal injury plaintiffs

If a lawyer took your case on contingency, it's worth asking whether we can fund it.

Non-recourseIf you don't recover, you owe us nothing.
No monthly paymentsWe're repaid once, out of the settlement.
Case, not creditApproval turns on your claim, not your score.

Personal injury covers a wide range of claims, and they share one structural problem: the person with the least ability to wait is the person who has to.

Your attorney is working on contingency and can absorb the delay. The insurer can absorb it indefinitely. You're the only party to the dispute whose rent is due while it plays out, and everyone in the room knows it.

What we fund

If your claim is pending in California and you're represented, start with a phone call.

Auto and truckingCollisions of every kind, including commercial vehicles, rideshare, and claims against uninsured or underinsured drivers.
Premises liabilitySlip and fall, negligent security, dog bites and dangerous property conditions.
Medical malpracticeSurgical error, misdiagnosis, birth injury and nursing home neglect. Slow, document-heavy, and often high value.
Product liabilityDefective products, equipment and vehicle failures, and recalled devices.
Employment and civil rightsWrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and excessive force claims.
Wrongful deathClaims brought by surviving family members and estates.

How we decide

Three questions, in roughly this order. Is liability reasonably clear? Are the injuries documented by treatment records? Is there insurance or another source of recovery large enough to pay the claim?

Then the arithmetic: what's already claimed against your recovery in medical liens, prior advances and attorney's fees, and what's left after that. We size funding so there's a meaningful recovery waiting for you at the end.

Your credit, your income and your employment history play no part in any of it.

Why this isn't a loan

A loan is money you have to pay back. This isn't that. We buy a portion of whatever your case eventually pays, and our right to be repaid exists only if there are proceeds.

That's what non-recourse means — we take on the risk that the case comes back with nothing.

It also means we can't touch your credit, your paycheck, your car or your home if the case doesn't go your way.

Questions

Common questions.

Do I need an attorney already?

Yes. We can't fund an unrepresented claim, and we don't refer cases to attorneys.

What if I've already taken an advance from another funder?

Tell us. Prior advances are claimed against the same recovery, so we need the full picture — and finding out later is a problem for everyone.

Can I apply more than once?

Often, if the case supports it. Each advance is a separate agreement, and we'll show you the combined position before you sign.

What can I spend it on?

Anything. Rent, groceries, childcare, the car payment, medical bills. No restrictions and no receipts.
